Default Spending attribute points to buy a skill, are they lost or do you still get 200?

I did not get all the skills from the pre-searing I could have from quests and started buying them in post, spending a point each for them. Are these points used up from my 200 cap or do the points I get later still max out to 200?

It all maxes out at 200. Whatever skills you didn't get in Pre-Seared you should be able to find or "capture" in the Seared world of Tyria.

The 200 pts. is what you put into defining what your character does. If you're talking about skill points then you will constantly receive them as your character levels and as you finish portions within the storyline. Even after you've hit lvl 20 you still accumulate XP to earn you another skill point.

Attribute points are different from skill points.

Default Thanks, that makes me feel better.

I had the impression that attribute points kept on coming in but I wanted to make sure I hadn't screwed up in spending some to buy skills from the vendor instead of waiting to get them from quests. I didn't want to find out that my 200 points I can use for attributes was just lowered to 195 from spending them to buy skills.

You start getting more attribute points per level at higher levels. During the last BWE, you got 5 until level 10, 10 until 15, and 20 from 16-20. However, since 30 of the attribute points have been removed from leveling, and added to quests, I'm not sure exactly what the system is now- I'd assume it something similar.

You use SKILL POINTS to buy skills from the vendor, not ATTRIBUTE POINTS.

Default Realised this after getting back into game after posting

I was posting from work and after getting home and looking at attribute distribution screen I saw the skill point box. Now it is clear and thank you all for the information.
